Why the first option you hear is often wrong — and how to avoid the trap.

Choose the correct answer (A, B or C) while you listen.
How the trap works
The speaker usually mentions all three options. Two are distractors — they are mentioned but then rejected, changed, or only partly true.
"I thought about taking the train, but it's too expensive. The bus is cheaper, but it takes forever. In the end I'll drive." → The answer is drive.
Step by step
- Before the audio, underline the key words in the question and options.
- Think of synonyms — you will probably not hear the exact words.
- Listen for contrast words: but, however, actually, in the end, instead.
- Don't choose the moment you hear a word from an option. Wait until the speaker finishes the idea.
